Work Underway On Vic Pitch

Posted on: Thu 10 May 2007

The Victoria Park pitch is now unrecognisable from the surface that won Dave Brown his League Two Groundsman of the Year award.

Straight after Saturday's final game of the season, Brown and the Club's other ground staff set about preparing the pitch for next term's League One campaign.

The first step saw the Koro Field Top maker used on the pitch to remove all of the old vegetation and then the full pitch was rotivated before being levelled with the Power Rakes.

Brown has now seeded the pitch in preparation for the new season and admits most of the hard work is now done,

"We have spent a few days getting the pitch ready for seeding and now it's all about keeping it watered and feeding it.

"I'd like to thank Premier Pitches who are our main pitch contractors and yet again they have done an excellent job."
