About St James' Park

St James' Park has been home to Exeter since 1904 and the opening game's crowd of 600 was said to have largely turned up to protest against the expulsion of pigs for which the site had been used previously. It's a traditional ground which has become a favourite for visiting Pools fans during their trips there a few years ago.

Away Facilities

Pools fans will be given an allocation of just over 1,000 for the game at Exeter with around 300 seats available. To sit in the seats supporters must enter through the Terrace turnstiles and then pay an upgrade fee of £2 at the transfer gate. Sitting could be advisable if the weather is poor as the Terrace area is uncovered.

Car Parking

There is a local residents scheme in operation but you should be able to find some street parking reasonably close to the ground.

Distance from Victoria Park

344.8 miles (6 hours, 10 minutes)

Directions

Take the A689 out of Hartlepool and join the A19 Southbound to join the A1. At Junction 44 remain in the right-hand lanes to join the M1. Leave the M1 at Junction 23a on to the A42 signposted The South West. Then continue forward on to the M42 before joining the M5 signposted The South West at Junction 7a. Leave the M5 at Junction 29 and turn right on to Honiton Road and then follow signs for Exeter and the City Centre. Take a right at the large roundabout on to Western Way and then take the second exit at the next roundabout on to Old Tiverton Road. You will then need to turn left on to St James' Road to find the ground.
