About The Valley

Since Charlton moved back to the Valley in December 1992 the stadium has undergone radical change, with three of the sides subject to extensive renovation. There were ambitious plans in place to extend the stadium to 40,000 in capacity but these plans have been placed on the back-burner due to relegation from the Premier League and then the subsequent fall in to League One.

Away Facilities

Pools fans will be housed in the Jimmy Seed Stand which is at the south side of the ground behind one of the goals. The stand is slightly raised above pitch level which affords visiting fans a good view of the action.

Car Parking

There is some street parking available but not that close to the ground due to local residents parking scheme. Aim for somewhere close to the Rose of Denmark pub on the A206 or streets named Eastmoor or Westmoor.

Distance from Victoria Park

262.7 miles (5 hours, 20 minutes)

Directions

Leave Hartlepool on the A689 and head on to the A19 South. Continue forward on to the A1(M) and then at Junction 44 keep in the lef-hand lanes to join the A1(M). Remain on the A1(M) until Junction 14 where you branch left on to the A14 which will lead you along on to the M11. You need to come off the M11 on to the M25 and head clockwise (signposted Dartford Crossing). Then join the A2 towards London, which becomes A102(M), the approach road to Blackwell Tunnel. Leave at the junction after the A2 exit and then turn right on the roundabout to join the A206 Woolwich Road. After the major set of traffic lights at Anchor and Hope Lane and Charlton Church Lane, travel around the second roundabout and come back on yourself. Then take the first left in to Charlton Lane. Cross the railway line and continue up the road, then right in to Harvey Gardens. The stadium should be visible on the left. Please note that access to Floyd Road and Harvey Gardens is restricted on a Matchday.
