"It was really enjoyable to play in. After the win over Southend followed by the disappointment of Doncaster it was nice to bounce back with such a comfortable win and one of our best performances of the season. Luton came and put five in midfield with Paul Furlong up front on his own and I think that suited us really. Sweens and Humphs were able to get forward from the full-back positions with Sam Collins and me looking after Furlong."

"I've played with Sam before but it was quite a while ago. It was during my first year as a professional back at Bury and I played alongside him a couple of times so I have some experience with him. After five minutes on Saturday we got used to each other and I thought he had a very solid debut. Hopefully we can see performances like that out of Sam a lot because he tends to be very consistent. There's nothing fancy there, he just comes and does his job and on Saturday he did that excellently."

"I think it's a very good move. Micky has been with the Club a number of years and it's the natural progression for him really. He's been the model professional since I've been here and it's good not only for him but for the kids who will be playing under him. Micky's a natural leader - if you came along to a training session without knowing who was Club Captain you'd know after five minutes because he leads players and keeps everyone motivated. I didn't really know any of the lads at the Club when I signed in 2003 but Micky was one of the first ones across to introduce himself and help me feel at home - I think he feels it's his responsibility to do that with new players having been with the Club so long."

"It's the first time I've ever had to buy hair styling product! In fact, the other week I was rooming with Ritchie Humphreys and he had to lend some of my product which is definitely a first! I quite like it at the minute even though it's taking me longer to get ready after training! And the other day Ben Clark told me he was getting used to it so I think I'm getting the seal of approval from the lads now as well!

I've heard people say that maybe it's making me look a little less aggressive but it's not changed the way I play. Perhaps the opposition strikers will be looking at me thinking I'm a soft touch but I can guarantee when that first tackle goes in it will be as hard as when I had a skinhead! In that way, let's hope it works in my advantage because it won't affect my game one bit."

"I think it's obviously going to be very different for them. If he'd come in and kept things the same then maybe the results would stay the same. He's trying to let everyone know he's in charge and how he wants things done and I think it's a good thing - he's mixing things up and keeping the players on their toes."

"On Monday morning Ian Butterworth had been reading about Fabio Cappello calling players by their surnames so he was like that with the lads all session. We couldn't call him 'Butts' it had to be 'Butterworth' and he was calling us 'Nelson', 'Clark' 'McCunnie' - it was quite funny!"
