H'Angus the Monkey has been undergoing a rigorous training regime in readiness for this weekend's Mascot Olympics which take place in Milton Keynes.

The Pools mascot has often been a star competitor in events of this nature but he'll need to be at his very best if he is to taste success on Saturday.

This year's event is promising to have a special 'World Cup twist' as the build-up continues to this year's big tournament in South Africa.

The Mascot Olympics is raising money for Milton Keynes based charity Spinal Injuries Association and the mascots will be pitching in to help raise much-needed funds for the charity.

Over 25 mascots are set to compete in a wide range of challenging events, including a penalty shootout, bin the boot and obstacle dribbling race.

Only one mascot will be crowned Olympic Champion 2010 - but will it be H'Angus the Monkey?

The event will include a fun fair on site together with local stalls and entertainment from street dancers.

We'll have all the news on how H'Angus gets on here on the Official Website on Monday.
