Stand Up And Be Counted - Wilson
Danny Wilson has warned his players they face a difficult assignment at struggling Bournemouth this weekend.
The cash-strapped outfit have this week confirmed that some players will defer their February wages in a bid to help the Club survive and Wilson has warned that such times of trouble can act as a motivational tool.
"We've seen it in the past and we'll expect it this weekend," Wilson commented.
"It can install a bit of a siege-mentality in a way and it can bring people closer together and we'll go there expecting that to be the case.
"It's not ideal to be playing football in that position but it can galvanise people and they can use that as a tool to drive them on to play out of their skins.
"We've watched them many times this season and they're nowhere near the worst team in the league and without the ten point deduction they'd be in a strong position to battle away from the bottom.
"We will not be going there expecting a walkover, we know it will be a tough game but if we can get our noses in front with an early goal then maybe their confidence can be affected."
And the Pools boss is pulling no punches with his squad ahead of the trip to Dorset where they will be looking for their first away win since the game at Millwall in early November.
"Too often this season we have let ourselves down and it has to stop," he insisted.
"It's time for the big players at this Football Club to step up to the plate and if they can't do that then we'll have to make some changes.
"I'll be making my team selection for Saturday's game with that in mind."
