Neil Austin was a guest in Pools Study Support Centre last week.

The full back popped in to take part in a class with Y6 pupils from Kingsley, being put under the spotlight in the classroom before more of the same in the radio studio.

The children were keen to find out more about Austin, quizzing him on his life away from football.

The full back revealed his life off the pitch is taken up by his children, although he does find some time to play golf.

They also found out about Austin's time at Darlington and Barnsley and discovered his keenness to get off the mark in terms of scoring for Pools.

The Kingsley pupils wrote newspaper articles on Austin as part of their classroom studies.

Neil stayed to sign autographs and pose for photographs with pupils and he proved a big hit with all pupils.
