Official Tournament Proves Huge Success

Posted on: Tue 03 Jul 2007

Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July saw Hartlepool United stage its inaugural Official 7-aside Junior football tournament at Manor College.

The weekend was a huge success as over 50 junior teams from ages 8 to 13 took part, and many families and friends took the time to support their teams.

The festival included many activities including a huge bouncy castle and shooting activities for prizes.

H'Angus made a surprise visit during the weekend and many children enjoyed photographs and autographs from the legendary monkey.

Fans

Martin Young and David Foley were on hand to watch the young hopefuls in their semi-finals and final matches.

Martin and David prolonged their stay to present the winners and runners up with their medals and have photographs taken with the children.

Under 8's winners were North Ormesby who beat Leven FC 1-0 in the Final.

Cleveland Juniors took the Under 9's Trophy home with a win on penalties after a one-one draw with Binkburn.

Bouncy Castle

Hartlepool Juniors won the Under 10's competition 1-0 against Cleveland Juniors.

The Under 11's was an entertaining 0-0 with Marton Hall Blues eventually beating Leven 3-2 on penalties.

In the Under 12's section, Paul Thomas Academy beat Seaton Carew 1-0 after extra time to claim their trophy.

Penalty Competition

The Under 13's age group saw Stockton A beat Darlington 21st Allstars 1-0 in what was another very entertaining game.

Hartlepool United have a tremendous relationship with Manor College School, and the Club would once again like to thank Head teacher Mr White for the use of the schools facilities, over what has been a very enjoyable weekend festival.
