HUDSA Scoop Good Sport Award
Hartlepool United Disabled Supporters Association (HUDSA) has been honoured by a national campaign.
HUDSA won the Wash & Go 'Good Sport' Award on a local football phone-in last week.
The original '2-in-1' shampoo is rewarding fun, fairplay and memorable football moments from across the North East.
HUDSA were honoured for raising funds through voluntary work and charitable events to provide disabled Pools fans with a specially adapted mini-bus for attending home and away games.
HUDSA Treasurer, Darran Hutchinson, was on hand to give some background on the organisation:
"HUDSA was formed in November 2001 and since then it has strived to provide people with special needs opportunities to become actively involved with Hartlepool United FC. The club is shocked but over the moon to be honoured with the Wash & Go 'Good Sport' Award.
"We have raised £28,000 in just 10 months to purchase specially adapted transport for disabled people in the local community."
