Sweeney Priced At 12/1 To Score First Goal

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

Pools are rated a 12/5 shot to pick up all three points on Saturday, with visitors Sheffield Wednesday installed as 11/10 favourites and the draw priced at 12/5.

The bookies clearly haven't banked on Pools' impressive form so far this season and it could be a good weekend to make a few quid if Mick Wadsworth's men turn it on again.

For instance, a 2-0 win over the Owls is priced at 12/1 with Coral, while a repeat of the glorious Adam Boyd inspired 3-0 victory on their last visit to The Vic in 2005 is on offer at 33/1.

While Boyd may be racing to be fit for the game, James Brown is always likely to provide a goal threat and could be a good bet for the first goal at 13/2.

And Antony Sweeney out at 12/1 to open the scoring also represents good value on Coral this weekend.
