Can Monkhouse Make It Nine Tonight?

Posted on: Tue 19 Jan 2010

Pools make only their second ever visit to The Valley this evening when they travel to face Charlton Athletic, with the bookies pricing the hosts as clear 1 / 2 favourites.

The last visit came in September 2005 in the League Cup, with only two Pools players remaining in the squad to make this second trip.

Antony Sweeney and Ritchie Humphreys started the Cup game and could be involved again this evening.

And if you fancy Sweeney to make his mark on his return, you can get odds of 18/1 for the Pools man to hit home first, with Humphreys out at 33/1.

Neil Austin is yet to get off the mark for Pools but at odds of 50/1, it may be worth a little flutter on the gritty full back to score first or 14/1 to score any time during the game.

Andy Monkhouse has found his scoring boots this season and is priced at 14/1 to fire in first - again, decent odds for the winger.
