Neale Cooper made a special presentation to Fred Benner of Dutch amateur club HSV following Pools’ friendly game with Almere City on Wednesday evening.
The fixture was played at HSV’s ground in Heiloo, a base which Pools also used for training during their week-long stay in Holland.
Benner is Club Secretary and played a key role in the organisation of the squad’s Dutch trip, including the arrangement of the two friendly fixtures.
As a gesture of thanks, Cooper handed over a signed Pools shirt which will take pride of place in the HSV boardroom.
“Both Fred and the HSV President Michel Engelsman did a lot of work to ensure this trip was a success and we’re really grateful,” the Pools boss commented.
“It was a pleasure to spend time in their company and I’d like to thank everyone involved at HSV for their hospitality.”
