Neale Cooper admitted that he was disappointed with the 3-0 defeat to Almere City on Wednesday night but insisted there were plenty of positives to come from the pre season friendly.
The Pools boss was much happier with the tempo and style of his side’s performance in wet and windy conditions in Heiloo but he knows they need to cut out the errors which led to the Dutch outfit’s three goals.
“It was a harsh result, I thought we played a lot better than we did the other night,” Cooper told Pools Player.
“We got in to a lot of good positions and created some chances; we asked them to get more crosses in to the box and they did that tonight which is important when you have people like Steve Howard and Andy Monkhouse in there.
“There was good things to take from the gam; okay we’ve been beaten 3-0 but all of the goals were very preventable and at the other end we did have opportunities.
“Sometimes you come abroad and batter teams and everyone thinks you’re great; we’ve lost two but there was plenty to take from that tonight although we must cut out the mistakes.
“It’s been a tough week, they’ve worked hard and of course I’m disappointed we’ve not won or scored a goal - some of the players know they have to do a lot better than they’ve done.”
