Pools boss happy following 1-1 draw with Hull City

Neale Cooper declared himself satisfied after his side produced another encouraging performance during the 1-1 draw with Hull City at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The Pools boss is particularly happy with the shape of his team and insists that everything is geared up nicely for the start of the new campaign next weekend.

"We've had some good results and games since we came back from Holland," he told Pools Player

"They've all been quite different tests but I thought we played a lot of good stuff again today - it was a little strange in terms of the low crowd but the boys dug in.

"The surface here is great and when you play against higher division opposition you sometimes get the time to be able to knock it about and we did that well at times.

"The shape of the team pleases me; everyone seems to know their roles at the moment. We don't have to over-talk things because everyone knows what they need to do.

"Jonathan (Franks) did very well for his goal, showing good pace and strength as well as a strong finish but all of the new signings have fitted in so quickly to their roles.

"When you sign players you want to make sure you get the right ones and I think we have that in those three and they're proving important players for the team already."
